Chris Emmins, CEO of KwikChex, was recently featured in a hard-hitting episode of the BBC’s flagship consumer affairs programme Rip Off Britain.
Aired on Friday 18 April at 09:30 on BBC One, the episode shone a spotlight on alarming consumer complaints surrounding Central Paralegals — a company linked to a wider network of unscrupulous businesses targeting timeshare owners. The investigation highlighted the growing risks faced by consumers seeking help with timeshare exits.

Central Paralegals
KwikChex is urgently warning the public to be on high alert. Central Paralegals is operating as part of a calculated campaign aimed at vulnerable timeshare owners. Their tactics include relentless cold calling, manipulation, and misinformation — all designed to exploit those desperate for assistance.
While they present themselves as offering legal help, the reality is far more sinister. Their operations are riddled with red flags: misleading promises, opaque practices, and a troubling disregard for consumer protection.

The Relentless Exploitation of Timeshare Owners
As mentioned in KwikChex’s recent collaboration with the BBC, the harsh reality facing timeshare owners is that they remain under relentless and escalating threat from predatory operators. This ongoing crisis has caused great detriment and already cost victims hundreds of millions — and there’s no sign it’s slowing down.
At the heart of the problem is a vast, well-coordinated web of fraudsters who prey on vulnerable consumers. Cold calls are incessant, tactics are aggressive, and the deception is deliberate. These scammers promise relief but deliver only more financial harm and emotional stress.
One such offender is Muca Asesores, a Spanish-based operation linked to a sprawling network of dubious companies, many of which will be all too familiar to those already affected, including:
- Fastline Legal Services SL
- Greenges 2005 SL
- Inconel Administration SL
- Incovex Consulting SL
- JM Muñoz Asesoria Juridica SL (also known as JM Asesores)
- Litigation Services SL
- O1C Leisure and Legal Solutions SL (also known as Our One Club)
- Platinum Services and Administration SL
- Rapid Reclaims SL

Over 200 Claims & Exit Businesses Have Disappeared
Timeshare owners that have paid thousands for purported claims and exit services are increasingly reporting that the businesses they trusted have stopped responding to calls and emails altogether.
KwikChex’s investigations have uncovered a staggering 200+ companies involved in such schemes — a mix of registered and fake entities. Many were cold calling operations, unlawfully using personal data to pressure timeshare owners into handing over large sums through lies, fear tactics, and manipulation.
Companies like Meridian Litigation Advisors and Aegis Direct who cold called timeshare owners and harassed them into believing they were still liable for timeshare maintenance fees, even though they had relinquished their timeshares free of charge some years before. Victims were then passed on to Claims Solution Group, a company with a deeply troubling track record of failed promises.
Although now under new ownership, people already stung in the past are understandably wary of dealing with Claims Solution Group, and if reviews left on Trustpilot are to be believed, Claims Solution Group may be cold calling, which would warrant further investigation.
Businesses Shut Down by Legal Action
Other businesses have been shut down by law enforcement agencies.
The notorious EZE Group offered exit and claims services, prior to the arrest and subsequent criminal convictions of owners Dominic and Stephanie O’Reilly.
And we’re still awaiting the outcome of the court case against Monster and all 18 defendants.
The Serious Fraud Office Investigates
Now the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has announced an investigation into another suspected fraudulent timeshare claims and exit scheme, run by an organised crime network.
It is believed that they were operating between January 2018 and September 2024, and the SFO is appealing for information from members of the public.
Many of the names on this list will be all too familiar — KwikChex has been sounding the alarm on these companies for years.

Urgent Action on Long-Term Vacation Investment Schemes
The threat to consumers goes far beyond claims and exit scams. A growing number of so-called Long-Term Vacation Investment Schemes are leaving buyers devastated — all the evidence indicates that hundreds of millions of financial detriment and extreme stress have been caused by misrepresentations, unethical sales practices, and in several cases, outright fraud.
KwikChex is working on the mis-selling and collapse of a scheme by Global Great Hotels, serious problems with the Seasons Holidays ‘Keys’ product, and the practices of Holiday Park Resorts in the selling and management of static caravans, often referred to as ‘holiday lodges’.
We’re calling for immediate regulatory action and enforcement. Consumers deserve protection — and those responsible must be held to account.

Know Your Rights — and Don’t Fall for Scams
Timeshare owners are protected by numerous consumer laws, and in many cases, legitimate exit options are available directly from timeshare companies themselves.
If you believe you were mis-sold a timeshare and may be entitled to compensation, it’s crucial to proceed with extreme caution. The industry is riddled with fraudulent claims and exit services, and failing to properly vet a company can lead to serious financial loss.
To protect yourself:
- Avoid cold callers and unsolicited offers.
- Research thoroughly — check official records, reviews, and regulatory warnings.
- Seek guidance from trusted sources.
If you’ve been affected by a timeshare issue or have any concerns, contact KwikChex. We can help you understand your options and take the right steps — safely and with confidence.
